Nice graphics. Sadly I cant fully take it in with the RT Trigger not being used and having a time limit. I just need to cool myself
For some reason it crashes on a mac I tried opening it like 50 times but it did not work
I know that it's childish of me to ask, but is there any update on Slipstream?
Amazing of what can be done with 2D. Good demo, congrats!
Love this game, take my money!!! are you selling it? is it complete now?

Just played a few races and had a pretty good time. As far as criticism goes though, you must be getting sick of people telling you to make it more like Outrun 2 but yeah that's kinda the case. I feel like the drifting is a little stiff. I feel like tweaking it isn't just a matter of loosening it up though. The way i like my drifts would be keep it LOOSE when you open the drift, TIGHT when you're in the drift, and then LOOSE when your exiting the drift. That way there's a sense of having to make delicate moves when ending the drift so it doesn't swing in the other direction, thus making the car feel like a beast that needs to be tamed. Also for a game named Slipstream i didn't really notice the actual slipstream mechanic when getting behind vehicles, if that actually exist you need to make it a little more noticeable. Only thing else i could think of would be add a little more impact when you hit cars, even Outrun 2 didn't do that well (but then again that might have been to discourage you from hitting cars, hmmmm.) That said I really love the style and i'll definitely keep my eye on this one.
10 mins later, 3rd game and I finished easy. I've got used to the right analogue stick for drifting. The up-down flick you have to do each time you drift.
20 mins later, 5th game and 3rd stage on medium. Used the LB, RB buttons. It's better but needs to be using triggers?
2 other issues.
1 - You need to take your accelerator off to tap brake then accelerate again to drift. It doesn't feel natural. Would feel better if you could keep accelerate down when you tap brake to trigger drift.
2 - Being able to break an existing drift to go the other direction would be good (ala outrun 2006). It would make the S sections feel better.
Maybe have no other cars on easy mode as well, to allow the player to get familiar with the game without bumping shit.
Love the music, art style. Here's some suggestions after only 1 race (i didn't even get to the 2nd stage on easy).
- VHS mode, it's too much, make the effect less strong so you can still see it but it doesn't blue everything out
- Gamepad controls - Using right analogue stick for accelerate/brake makes no sense, use right and left analogue triggers like every other racing game
- Drifting - It needs to be as responsive as Outrun 2006, ie. work exactly the same way, otherwise it's not enjoyable.
kinda think the reason he/she used the right analogue stick to accelerate is cause on every PS2 racing game i used to play up/down on the right stick was gas/brake/reverse.
There just isn't enough time! I can bearly get '2 stages visited' on my score card! Other than that, Great game! :D
I hope one of the cars is a red convertible with a blonde sitting in the passenger seat :) That would make the Outrun nostalgia complete!
look very nice!
Can't wait for it to be finished. Plays pretty great, and the soundtrack's got the most rad driving music I've heard in a while. Anyone know where I can find more music like this? Shoot an email to firstname.lastname@example.org! :P
This is a really nice looking game.
Fantastic fun. Anything with that much blue sky on the intro has to be good.
Lovely smooth gameplay too.
Awesome! Like Victory Run for the TG16 but better
P.S. My brother just played a few games too -- he can beat the original OutRun arcade and is a huge fan of these style of racers -- and I posted the footage on my YouTube channel. Hope it helps! We like your polish a lot. There is a tendency to get stuck on the edge of a road after a crash, due to the sharpness of the corner.
Oh, I was going to mention: I could not drift from one direction to another. It would break out of the drift. OutRun 2 would like you do this maneuver and thought you might like to include it in Slipstream. And, I enjoyed your game!
Not sure if this helps, but I played it three times and posted a video: https://youtu.be/iIfP9invmzA. For context, I am a big OutRun fan. I can beat the original arcade and unlocked 200/200 GS in the Xbox LIVE version. I could not get my Xbox controller to work (which explains the delays in the first run).
